The Town had been a part of the Town of Clinton until 1821, when it was split off. The Bicentennial celebration. September 17 through 19, is an expansion of the annual Pleasant Valley Days and it will include such favorites from that event as Rotary’s Beer & Wine Tent, the country music, the typical carnival foods and rides, the bicycle ride, the parade, and the annual race of plastic ducks down nearby Wappingers Creek, with the winner bringing a $500 prize to the backer of the lucky duck. In addition, Friday will feature a car show, the fireworks on Saturday will be extended, and there will be ongoing demonstrations as well as new traveling amusements.
