COVID-19 Facts from Health Commissioner (Aired on February 7, 2021)

Dr. Anil K. Vaidian, Dutchess Country Commissioner of Behavioral and Community Health visits RadioRotary to present the latest information about COVID-19 and the vaccines that prevent it. COVID-19 is the disease caused by a brand-new virus, SARS-CoV-2, so our immune systems are not prepared to deal with it. It is very infectious, so once it began to spread from human to human, a worldwide pandemic occurred. One of the main ways to slow the spread of the disease is to wear a mask with at least two layers of protection whenever you are indoors with other persons. The spread will be stopped when about 80 percent of the population has been vaccinated against the disease. Dr. Vaidian provides on the program detailed advice about both mask wearing and vaccines.
