Great Events from Goshen Rotary (Aired on May 11 and 12, 2019)

Rotary 7210 Past District Governors Ken and Doris Obremski, both members of
the Rotary Club of Goshen NY (Ken is currently club president) visit RadioRotary
to tell about some of the events the club uses to raise funds and support the
community and also about some of the projects that Goshen Rotary funds. In the
spring, The Taste of Goshen brings the culinary talents of local restaurants to
one event, complete with jazz and a silent auction. Then around Independence
Day, Goshen Rotary joins the Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses
and organization to produce the Great American Weekend. 5K and 10K races
are a feature of the weekend sponsored by Goshen Rotary—the Obremskis are
there are the finish line with refreshments for the runners. The money raised is
used for many scholarships for local high-school students, a Thanksgiving dinner
for the needed, and many other community projects. Goshen Rotary is also
proud of its support for The Rotary Foundation, which funds both international
projects and community good works.
